What is a shared IP address?
A shared IP address is an IP that is used for hosting multiple websites. For example, all web sites on our servers that don't have own IP addresses are hosted on the shared IP. Of course the shared IP address is hidden to the visitor and there is no way to determine whether the web site is hosted on a shared IP or not. The only disadvantage of shared IPs is that the websites can only be viewed when accessed by hostname (www.domain.com) and not directly by IP address.
